Our unwavering commitment to safety and security since our founding faced with the reality of many people losing their possessions due to natural disasters and war, Genzo Kumahira strongly felt the importance of safes. Guided by his belief that he wanted to protect people's valuables, he founded Kumahira Shoten in 1898 (Meiji 31) with the aim of repairing and selling safes. This marked the beginning of our business dedicated to delivering safety and security. Six years after its founding, the company established its own manufacturing plant for safes. It began full-scale development and production of safes and vault door for financial institutions. While financial institutions always demand the highest level of security, our company not only meets these stringent requirements but has also introduced products that anticipate changes in the times. Among these, the special defensive material ‘Kumahira Alloy,’ developed independently to enhance theft resistance and fire resistance, is one of the most symbolic achievements. As a domestically produced safe manufacturer that embodies the strength of Japanese craftsmanship, Kumahira has established a solid position within the industry.

In recent years, in order to meet diversifying and increasingly sophisticated security needs, we have leveraged the expertise we have cultivated in safe manufacturing to engage in research and development of access control systems, security gates, and other products, thereby growing into a total security company. As a result, we now provide solutions not only to financial institutions but also to government agencies and general companies. Going forward, Kumahira will continue to strive to protect our customers' valuable assets, which evolve with the times, without complacency, and contribute to the realisation of a safe and secure society.
